Administrative Council Meeting
November 20, 2011

Present: John H., Wilma H., Roger W., Jim D., & Patrice H.

• Went over Finance Report – unanimously decided to change the Trivia Night & Changing Lives Fund to Saturday Evening Worship Fund.
• 2011 Apportionments are all paid up.
• Talked about snow removal and snow removal charges. Jim is looking into other companies. We decided to put $100/month away for snow removal.
• John indicated the teacher's assistant with the Special School has indicated he may be able to sell our copier. We'd like a $2600 profit, so we're going to write up a contract that if he sells the copier for $3500 or less, he can keep the profit, but if he gets more, we'll split the difference, i.e., if he sells it for $3600, then we split the difference over $3500, so we'd each receive an additional $100.
• Elevation Church would like to use our Sanctuary for a 5:00 Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Everyone OK'd it, understanding that Patrice would be at the church at that time to let them in, etc. We'll need to get with them regarding the sound system, etc.
• We also talked about Elevation maybe helping us get a Saturday evening service going.
• Wilma reported that Ladies Table Talk going well. We decided that the Friday night UMM/UMW meetings will be "advertised" as UMM only.
• Wilma also reported that Children's church also going well.
• John reported we'll be having a baptism for Scott Seaman's son.
• We all talked about inviting people to church -- that is the only way to get new members. We also talked about calling people on the books who haven't been there in awhile, and telling them we need them at church, and we need them to support VPUMC.
• Patrice indicated she hadn't received a bill from UMPACT when expected. She'll call to find out what's going on.
