Meet Pastor Jack and Beth

Pastor Jack McCoy was born in South Boston, Virginia. Jack moved with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida as a youngster and grew up there. After graduating from Dixie M. Hollins High School, Jack attended Mississippi College on a basketball scholarship. He joined the United States Air Force in 1970 and served four honorable years. He went to work for the Department of Veteran Affairs and retired in 2004 as the Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Policy and Planning for Veterans Benefits.

His wife, Beth, works for VA as Central Area Director, responsible for oversight of 14 benefit delivery offices in the Midwest. His daughters, Sarah and Molly, live and work in North Carolina, near Asheville.

Jack has served as the Coordinator of Lay Involvement at Acton United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and also as Associate Pastor at Salem United Methodist in Wexford, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Local Pastor Licensing School. Pastor Jack will be attending St. Paul Seminary in Kansas City in the Spring. Most recently Jack has been on the staff at Salem In Ballwin United Methodist Church in Ballwin, Missouri. Jack is excited to be serving the church and welcomes everyone to come and visit the friendly congregation of Valley Park United Methodist Church.
