For most people Christmas is all but over. You know that four week build-up from Thanksgiving and then that one week let-down at New Years. How sad, if all you know of Christmas is the commercial side.

Most of us have a sense of longing at Christmas. We yearn for a simpler time without all the burdens that have piled up around our feet or weigh on our shoulders. Or perhaps we are looking to be loved perfectly. The type of love that cannot be found in other people and that we are unable to give.

But there is good news!

Christmas is just starting. We have been waiting up to this point and now the time of waiting is over. Now is the time of Joy! Christians understand that the perfect love which cannot be found in others can be found in God. It is shown in the Gift that God gave us, His Son, Jesus the Messiah. God has loved us from the beginning; He loves us now and will continue loving us for all time. That perfect love that allows us to love all the more.
